What’s in it for me?
The whole reason for creating a Business Improvement District is the to enhance the economy of its District and this is brought about by a whole range of projects and actions determined by representatives of the contributing businesses.
While most BIDs relate to town centre traders, others operate on business, parks and in the hospitality industry. In Sevenoaks, the plan is to involve businesses of all types and throughout the whole town. So, there is plenty of scope for benefits to accrue to businesses of diverse specialisations.
A Steering Group drawn from a spectrum of business types is working on the Sevenoaks BID Business Plan and budget. When complete it will be distributed in good time for a ballot to be held, and a vote taken on introducing this new vehicle to build the economy and vitality of Sevenoaks.
BID – Business Improvement District
The activities of a BID are decided by the business people who become the BID directors. Typically they might include the following or more. The monies raised by the BID are ring-fenced and for the benefit only of the BID area.
